Fall Festival Style & GIVEAWAY

21 Sep

Next weekend I’m headed to the Riverview Landing Fall Festival and Urban Hoedown!  I’m really excited because I love festivals and the Constellations are playing (!!), but the weather in Atlanta during the fall can be crazy.  So what does one wear when it’s 55* at 9am and 85* at 2pm and 60* at 8pm?  No one wants to carry heavy jackets around, so here are my suggestions on pieces that make dressing for fall festivals easy.

Jealous of me going to this AWESOME festival?  Don’t worry!  Enter to win tickets by “liking” Yoga in Heels, Riverview Landing Fall Festival, Riverview Landing, and leaving a comment on why you love fall festivals below!

Boots:

I always sport boots to festivals because you never know what the terrain will be like.  Flat boots, or wedges if you can’t possibly be seen in flats, but absolutely no heels.  Don’t be THAT girl.  If it’s raining or has just finished raining, I’d sport my Hunter Rain Boots.  If not, my Anthropologie boots are super cute.

 Pants:

I stick with skinny jeans or leggings, but usually leggings because they are more versatile.  I love wearing my Zobha leggings as fashion leggings as well because they are moisture wicking, quick drying and super comfy.  Perfect for any climate.

Top:

Since I’m wearing leggings, I usually go with an American Apparel T-Shirt dress.  100% cotton and fitted enough to be able to layer on top.  So cute, and it hold’s its shape pretty well.  I love the look of a white t-shirt dress with black leggings and light brown boots.  This is my go to fall festival look.

Outerwear:

Scarves are essential for fall festivals.  They keep the chill off and can be used as a shawl if you get cold.  They also roll up really small and fit into your purse.  Love the versatility of a scarf, as you can also tie it into a vest if you don’t want to hold it throughout the day and you’re getting hot.  Check out these uber soft Shawlsmith London Scarves from Atlanta Activewear.  I die for them.

If there’s one celeb I love and who can do no wrong, it’s Giuliana Rancic.

I’m sure you all know that Giuliana struggled with breast cancer during the Fall of 2011, but some of you may not know that she went through a double mastectomy in order to rid her body of the cancerous cells.

And if I didn’t love her enough, she said this about losing her breasts,

“…And I thought, if I ever have a job that is defined by my breasts and some gorgeous gown then I’m in the wrong business.”

What you also may not realize is that BodyRock Sport, a brand I love dearly for all it’s fabulousness, specializes in mastectomy bras, which they call the Empowerment Collection!  BodyRock Sport,  donates mastectomy bras to the American Cancer Society for women in need. LOVE!

Giuliana was looking SO #activechic in what looks like an Aviator Nation sweatshirt, BodyRock Sport Barbara Bra , and Stella McCartney cropped sweatpants at the Bright Pink event!  I couldn’t find the exact look, so I decided on a copycat with accessible brands!

Victoria’s Secret French Terry Off The Shoulder Top, BodyRock Sport Barbara Bra, Victoria’s Secret PINK Cropped Sweatpant, and Nike Air Max Run Lite!

Giuliana, we love you! You are an inspiration to all! xoxox

Breast Cancer Awareness is very important, actually, fighting ALL forms of cancer is important.  If you can make a donation to the American Cancer Society, please do.  We are all affected by cancer in some way, please support the cause!
