TREND ALERT: The 7/8th Legging

28 Mar

It’s a capri, it’s a pant, it’s a….

what length IS that?

As I grabbed a pair of the new MPG Sport Endorphin capris off the shelf at Atlanta Activewear and ran into the fitting room before my VIP spin party at Flywheel Sports, I thought I was just trying on another pair of super cute capris that had a splice of color! I didn’t know these leggings would revolutionize my workout wardrobe.

I got them on, came out of the fitting room, looked in the mirror and said to Danielle, owner of Atlanta Activewear, “Did my legs get shorter? What length are these pants?”

“They are the new 7/8th capri! Aren’t they a great length? They really elongate your leg.”

They were great, they really and truly did elongate my leg! I have legs on the larger side of life and, although I love 3/4 leggings, I find they aren’t as flattering on my leg shape as I’d like. I lived with it because I didn’t have a slightly longer option–until now!

The skinny:

The 7/8th capri hits at the bottom of the calf muscle, just above the ankle. This is where almost everyone’s legs are skinniest and it creates great contouring of the rest of the leg.

This was a revelation in my workout wardrobe, and MPG isn’t the only brand hitting the 7/8th length! The RESE Activewear Kate capri is a 7/8th, and conveniently, my new neon yellow Cabi jeans are 7/8th as well.

Can’t picture the length? I like to compare it to the length of Audrey Hepburn’s pants in the 60s.

60’s style is SO in for spring. Get your Audrey Hepburn on, and get yourself some 7/8th length pants! You can thank me later.

Soundtrack to My Spring!

26 Mar

If there’s something I love almost as much as clothes and shoes, it’s music.

According to @ZodiacFacts on twitter, Aquarians, like myself, live life via music. Their music choices can show their mood or change their mood. Music rules their universe. I think it’s 100% true in my case.

Here’s the soundtrack to the beginning of my spring workouts:

  • Lights by Elie Goulding
  • N****a in Paris by Kayne West & Jay Z
  • Part of Me by Katy Perry
  • Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye
  • Young, Wild & Free by Snoop Dog feat
  • So Good by B.O.B
  • Rack City by Tyga
  • The Motto by Drake feat Lil’ Wayne
  • Save the World by Swedish House Mafia
  • Brokenhearted by Karmin
  • Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon
  • Is Anybody Out There by KN’aan feat. Nelly Furtado

What are you guys listening to? I LOVE new music, so leave a comment below or on Facebook!
