Headphones that DON’T Fall Out!

22 Sep
Who actually runs in Beats by Dr. Dre and Skecher’s Shapers? I guess she is Fergie..

——————————————————–

I have a secret…I’ve spent almost $700 on headphones. Outrageous, right? And then I found it, the product that changed my workout life….YURBUDS.

I scoured the electronics stores looking for headphones that wouldn’t fall out. I tried in ear, around the ear, over the head, behind the head, Apple headphones, Bose Headphones….I tried it all.

The day before my very first half marathon, the 2009 Disney Princess Half, I mosied around the expo looking at all the vendors when a man stopped me and said “Do your headphones fall out?” I looked at him as if he was psychic, and said “Yeah….they all do.” Then this kid looked at my ear and said “Oh wow…you have freakishly small ear holes. That’s why. Size 5, step to the left.” “What? Freakishly small ear holes? Size 5? Who is this kid?” I said, keeping the blow to my ego to myself. Then I tried them…**heavenly angels sing**

Definition:

Yurbuds: a medical grade silicone headphone cover that is SIZED specifically to YOUR ear and acts as a locking system for your headphone. Developed by triathletes. Can be seen under “Best invention ever; Godsend; Performance enhancer”

I swear on my life, these things are for real. I can’t live without my yurbuds. I have worn them to Crossfit, running, dancing, walking the dog…everywhere. They have just launched a bunch of new lines as well:

Ironman Inspire $49.99: Headphone with Yurbuds

Ir0nman Endure $29.99: Over the ear headphone with yurbud attached.

Ironman Inspire Pro-Dry Mic $59.99: Earbud with Yurbud attached with mic and music controls built into cord

Ironman Endure Pro-Dry Mic $59.99: Silicone over the ear headphone with yurbud attached. Built in mic and music controls.

I promise that these work. You can be sized through Yurbuds.com, just follow their instructions after your purchase or find a retailer near you!

If you can plan your workout wardrobe right, you can get a lot more bang for your buck! Who needs a pair of workout leggings AND a pair of casual leggings? Why can’t one pair live a double life?!?

Here are 3 items that don’t need much room in your closet, but will leave you with more money in your wallet!

1. Leggings: There’s one major difference between workout leggings and fashion leggings; the outside of the leg seam. On workout leggings there is one which makes them stand out as workout leggings. On fashion leggings, the outside of the leg has NO seam. If you purchase the Lululemon Cardio Crop Capris ($78) and a pair of J. Crew Signature leggings ($39.50), you spend $117.50!  Here’s the trick: find moisture wicking, quick drying “workout leggings” without the seam. Try ANY Zobha leggings, my favorite being the ruched capris ($79)! Other brands to note: RESE Activewear Natalie & Kori leggings and ROGIANI Leggings.

You SAVE $40 by only having to buy one pair!

2. Functional, yet Funky, Tops: Why workout in tops that are so plain jane and then have to go change to go out? You could wear the Prana Prism Tank ($50) and then change into the Cynthia Lace Racerback tank from BCBG ($78) for a cute workout tank and sexy going out tank, but functional, sexy workout tops exist! Check out the Tees By Tina Smooth Tank in Leopard ($49) and Bluefish Energy Top ($69). Let’s say you buy the more expensive tank (bc you are still saving money)…

You SAVE $59! Total savings so far: $99!

3. Structured Workout Jackets: Everyone loves a hoodie, like the Lululemon Scuba Hoodie ($148), but throwing a hoodie on with jeans is SO casual and can be seen as messy. You end up buying another jacket like Aqua’s Fitted Girlfriend Blazer ($88) to wear with jeans in order to look put together.  Instead of buying two jackets, you could get one with a mandarin collar that looks like a blazer but is comfy like a sweatshirt. My personal faves: Zobha Essential Jacket ($115), RESE Andreea Jacket ($125) and the MPG Trek Jacket ($125). Again, let’s choose the most expensive jacket.

You SAVE $111 on jackets!

Overall savings: $210! Holy moses!
