Headphones that DON’T Fall Out!

22 Sep
Who actually runs in Beats by Dr. Dre and Skecher’s Shapers? I guess she is Fergie..

——————————————————–

I have a secret…I’ve spent almost $700 on headphones. Outrageous, right? And then I found it, the product that changed my workout life….YURBUDS.

I scoured the electronics stores looking for headphones that wouldn’t fall out. I tried in ear, around the ear, over the head, behind the head, Apple headphones, Bose Headphones….I tried it all.

The day before my very first half marathon, the 2009 Disney Princess Half, I mosied around the expo looking at all the vendors when a man stopped me and said “Do your headphones fall out?” I looked at him as if he was psychic, and said “Yeah….they all do.” Then this kid looked at my ear and said “Oh wow…you have freakishly small ear holes. That’s why. Size 5, step to the left.” “What? Freakishly small ear holes? Size 5? Who is this kid?” I said, keeping the blow to my ego to myself. Then I tried them…**heavenly angels sing**

Definition:

Yurbuds: a medical grade silicone headphone cover that is SIZED specifically to YOUR ear and acts as a locking system for your headphone. Developed by triathletes. Can be seen under “Best invention ever; Godsend; Performance enhancer”

I swear on my life, these things are for real. I can’t live without my yurbuds. I have worn them to Crossfit, running, dancing, walking the dog…everywhere. They have just launched a bunch of new lines as well:

Ironman Inspire $49.99: Headphone with Yurbuds

Ir0nman Endure $29.99: Over the ear headphone with yurbud attached.

Ironman Inspire Pro-Dry Mic $59.99: Earbud with Yurbud attached with mic and music controls built into cord

Biggest Loser Season 12 Debut

21 Sep

The Biggest Loser is one of my all time favorite reality TV shows, I just can’t get enough! I love to watch how Bob, Anna and Dolvett use all different types of training to get results.

“Age ain’t nothin’ but a number”-Bob Harper

If you watch closely, you can see that they used Crossfit workouts, TRX training, sports training, endurance training, weights, ropes and more in ONE workout! I WISH I could get trained like that.

“That’s MY treadmill. GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY TREADMILL!”-Dolvett Quince, Episode 1

I am especially invested this season because one of new trainers, Dolvett Quince, is from my hometown of Atlanta. I actually had the pleasure of hanging out with Dolvett about two years ago at a birthday party he was hosting, turns out he is really good friends with a few of my girl friends! One degree of separation.

I’m going to re-watch the show this evening and pull some workouts from it. I think Bob and Dolvett proved a huge point in last night’s show. Anna chose Low Intensity workouts for herĀ group, while Dolvett and Bob chose High Intensity workouts, the results showed that High Intensity is the way to go.

What I really love about The Biggest Loser isn’t just the workouts, it’s the fact that it shows that your body can do anything…

your mind is what stops you.

On that note, it’s time for me to get back on track with my Savannah Rock ‘N’ Roll 13.1 training so I can show you what I am training in. Thanks for the inspiration, BL12!

As for the trainers, I still love Bob and Dolvett’s way of training is great. Anna needs to step up her game as all her players lost the least amount of weight.
